The faithful of our parish concluded the year 2021 with a midnight Eucharistic celebration at two centers of our parish, namely the Mother Center St. Joseph at Sikka Hadid and St. Josephine Bakhita at Lokoloko. The masses were celebrated at midnight in all the parishes within Wau Town.
The faithful at St. Josephine Bakhita had a well-organized program before the mass. The program was meant to prepare the faithful for a prayerful, joyful, hopeful, peaceful, and spiritual transition from the Year 2021 to 2022. There was a moment of prayers and worship, drama, and some input from the leaders of the centers –parish priest included and the sacrament of reconciliation. This program came to an end 30 minutes before midnight so that we can be able to get ready for Eucharistic Celebration.
January 1-2, 2022, was marked with Joy and peace. We had also two masses at the same centers only for all the people of our parish. the feast of Epiphany of the Lord was celebrated at all the centers of our parish with the exception of children who were with the Bishop celebrating a Diocesan Children day at Mary Help of Christians Parish Cathedral.
we are grateful to God and the government of the state for providing security for spiritual and social activities and gatherings including our might masses. May God bless our leaders of Church and state with good health and wisdom to serve the people of God entrusted to their care in the state and beyond and May God bless all the citizens with wisdom to cooperate so that we can be able to build a permanent peace in our country South Sudan.
Have a blessed New Year 2022
